About Us

In 1921 the James family opened a Harley-Davidson dealership on Guadalupe in downtown Austin making it one of the oldest dealerships in Texas. The dealership went out of business in the early '70s.

The Connell family of Killeen reopened the dealership, as Austin Harley-Davidson, shortly there after at 5605 Burnet Road. In 1980 to Bob Sharp purchased the dealership and later took on a business partner.

In the mid '80s, Buddy Agulare purchased the dealership from Bob Sharp and resurrected the original business name, Central Texas Harley-Davidson.

In 1997 the dealership was purchased by Les Paul and Tommy Owen who later took on Gerald Lindenmuth as a partner. During this ownership, the 6th Street store was also opened and in March of 1999 the dealership was moved to its current location at Braker and IH-35.

In February of 2001, the dealership was purchased by America’s PowerSports (APS), one of the leading powersport networks.

In April of 2006, Scott and Christy Wall purchased part ownership of Central Texas Harley-Davidson and are currently on site as the dealer principals managing day-to-day operations.

In April of 2008, Central Texas Harley-Davidson added a second location in Round Rock, TX. The new 50,000 sq ft facility sits on over 5 acres in a prime retail area of I-35, between FM 3406 (Exit 254) and University Blvd.

In addition to this great new facility the Austin store’s (E. Braker Lane) primary focus is on selling Buell and pre-owned Harley-Davidson motorcycles. They are also looking forward to a remodel in 2009.
